After finishing high school, Nem was working on her family's farm until she decided to come to Singapore to work as a domestic helper. She then continued to work in the same household with 4 adults, performing all the housekeeping duties including grocery shopping, and of course, cooking. During her time here Nem says she has learned some Indian and other local Asian dishes.
