She has accumulated nearly 4 years of overseas work experience - 2 years in Taiwan and almost 2 years in Singapore - gaining valuable skills in both elderly care and childcare.

She is able to converse fairly well in Mandarin, which allows her to communicate effectively with elderly individuals and Mandarin-speaking households. She also understands a little English, enough to follow basic instructions and engage in simple conversations.

During her time in Taiwan, she cared for a 60-year-old Ah Mah who was a stroke patient and wheelchair-bound. Ah Mah was physically weak and unable to walk independently. Mariyem assisted her with showering, toileting, dressing, and daily exercises to maintain mobility and comfort. She provided full support in daily routines, ensuring Ah Mah’s hygiene, dignity, and well-being were consistently maintained.

In Singapore, she worked for a family of five consisting of Sir, Ma’am, and three children aged 16, 5, and 3. She bathed them, served meals, supervised homework, and ensured they were safe, comfortable, and well cared for throughout the day.

She also managed household chores in her Singapore employer’s two-storey bungalow with 3 bedrooms and 3 toilets. Her duties included sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry, ironing, and maintaining cleanliness in all living spaces. She kept the kitchen and bathrooms hygienic and organized, demonstrating strong time management and attention to detail in a larger home setting.
