She completed high school and is able to converse in simple English. Octa has worked for one employer in Singapore, completing a 2‑year contract caring for a dementia Ah Mah.

Octa cared for a physically healthy dementia Ah Mah. Her main role was to provide close supervision and safety support, especially during showering and toileting, areas where Ah Mah was at higher risk of slipping or falling. She also accompanied Ah Mah to the elderly day‑care centre daily, ensuring safe travel, supporting her during activities, and maintaining close supervision throughout the day.

Octa ensured Ah Mah followed her routines, guided her gently when she became forgetful, reminded her of tasks, and provided calm companionship to reduce confusion or anxiety. She ensured ah mah took her meals and medication on time, and kept the environment safe, tidy, and free of hazards.

Alongside caregiving, Octa managed all household chores, ensuring the home was always clean, organised, and safe for Ah Mah. Her duties included daily cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, laundry, ironing, and maintaining overall household hygiene. She also handled the cooking, preparing nutritious meals suited to Ah Mah’s preferences and condition, and ensuring food was served on time.
