The family is releasing her as they find that there is no need for them to hire a full-time helper, as the son is now already 14 years old and very independent. Her employer gave her a reference letter saying, "I am writing this letter to strongly recommend Anabel, who has been employed as our domestic helper for the past 9 years. It is rare to find someone as dedicated and reliable as her. The fact that she has stayed with our family for nearly a decade speaks volumes about her character. Most importantly, Anabel is very honest. Over the last 9 years, we have trusted her completely with our house keys, access to our belongings, and the handling of grocery money. She actually prepares the list of items to buy, and she does her own supermarket shopping on a weekly basis. I just give her the money, and she buys the items. She has always maintained the highest level of integrity and transparency, giving us total peace of mind. She manages the household with minimal supervision and is exceptionally proactive. She does not wait to be told what to do; whether it is deep cleaning or organizing, she notices what needs to be done and handles it efficiently. She is an excellent cook, particularly with Chinese cuisine. She is also capable of preparing Western dishes and is very good at following recipes accurately to learn new meals. She is also keen on learning new recipes. Anabel is a trustworthy and hardworking individual. I have no doubt she will be a valuable asset to her next employer. During her work with this family, she learned many Chinese dishes from her madam, because she likes and has an interest in cooking. Her madam was more keen to teach and introduce Chinese food to her. She completed her contract for almost 9 years, and then her previous employer did not require a full-time helper.
