New maidShe has never worked in Singapore before. She has successfully completed her one-month training in our Myanmar training center. During her training, she was taught how to cook Chinese food such as mixed vegetables, pork rib soup, how to prepare fish, how to prepare meat and how to use various kitchen appliances. She was also taught the basics of household chores such as cleaning, washing and ironing clothes. It was also explained to her on the dos and don'ts in Singapore, the expectations of Singapore employers, and personal women hygiene. Like any other new Myanmar maids, her English is basic. She is about to complete an intensive 7-day training Caregiver programme in Yangon, Myanmar, conducted by iCare Life Pte Ltd. iCare Life is an Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) approved training centre. AIC is a Singapore government agency formed under the Singapore Ministry of Health to oversee the training and facilities for Singapore's aging population. During the 7-day training, the participants are provided the theory and practice of eldercare, including interactive teaching, discussion and role play.
