She conducted grocery shopping twice weekly, prepared full-meal Indian vegetarian dishes such as dhal, chapati, biryani rice, vegetable curry, and kueh desserts, and assisted with laundry, ironing, and putting away clothes. She provided basic disability support including accompanying the employer on wheelchair errands, positioning for meals, and ensuring medication was taken on schedule.
She completed her contract with no outstanding issues.
2008 - 2011 | Taiwan, Taichung | Landed home | Chinese employer, 2 adults and 2 children Karmila undertook daily cleaning upstairs and in common areas, vacuumed carpets, cleared cobwebs, and ensured all living spaces were dust-free. She did laundry for all family members, ironed school uniforms and office wear, and maintained cupboards neatly. She grocery shopped for fresh produce and pantry items, cooked rice porridge, stir-fried vegetables, chicken mushroom soup, and steamed fish for the adults and children after school. She bathed the youngest child and helped with homework and bedtime routines until both children reached independence.
She finished her two-year-plus contract without extension.
