Margie is a 39yo Filipino domestic helper. Margie is currently doing her manicure business wishes to spend more time with her children before pursuing employment overseas. She is looking forward to work in Singapore to earn more money for her children.
2007 to 2010 (3yrs) Philippines: Margie was working in a Filipino Family with 2 elderly. Staying in a 1-storey house with 3 rooms, only helper in the household. She took care of bedridden grandpa (age of 72yo) by assisting him in prepare food and medicine, changing diapers, showering, follow to the hospital and the need of wheelchair. She also managed in all the household chores such as cleaning, washing, ironing, laundry and cooking. She is able to cook Filipino food such as pork caldereta, nilaga, sinigang, adobo and so on. After that, she ran her own manicure business before applying to work in Hong Kong.
Aug 2019 to Dec 2020 (1yr&5mths) Hong Kong: Margie was working in a Chinese Family with 2 children (age of 7yo & 12yo-boys). Staying in a 3-storeyhouse with 5 rooms, only helper in the household. She took care of the children and her duties included preparing food, assisting to prepare for showers, preparing the child's school bag and uniform. She also managed in all the household chores such as cleaning, washing, ironing, laundry and cooking. She was unable to finish the contract as her employer relocated to China.
Feb 2020 to Jan 2023 (3yrs) Hong Kong: Margie was working in a Chinese Family with 2 adults, 1 elderly and 1 child (age of 9yo boy). Staying in a flat with3 rooms, only helper in the household. She took care of 74yo grandma (hip fracture) by assisting her in using wheelchair, showering, changing diapers, prepare medicine and follow to the hospital. She also managed in all the household chores such as cleaning, washing, ironing, laundry and cooking. She finished her contract.
During our face to face interview in Manila, Margie shared that she enjoys cooking and singing. She is now ready to work abroad to earn more money for her children. Margie describes herself as a hardworking, honest and friendly person.
