  Marites is a 42-year-old Filipino domestic helper. Her husband, who works as a driver with a modest income, will take care of the children while she works abroad. Marites is eager to work in Singapore to earn a better income and support her family's needs, especially her children's future. In her first role, she worked in a household with one adult and another helper,managing all household chores including cleaning, washing, ironing, laundry, and cooking. She was occasionally involved in caring for visiting grandchildren aged 1 to 3 years. She is able to cook simple Arabian dishes such as rosbrocary, kofta, and pasoliyadh. She renewed her contract twice and took a home leave before returning to the same employer later on. In her next employment with the same family, she continued handling the full range of household duties. She completed her contract before returning home due to the pandemic.
  
  Her most recent experience was in a household with two young children (aged 4 and 6). She worked alongside another helper in a 2-storey house, assisting with childcare tasks such as food preparation, helping the children with showers, and getting them ready for school. She also managed general housekeeping tasks including cleaning, washing, ironing, and laundry. After completing her contract, she began seeking a better opportunity in Singapore.
  
  During our face to face interview in Manila, Marites shared that she enjoys cooking. She is able to cook Filipino food such as chicken curry, fried chicken,adobo, pork steak and so on. She is now ready to work abroad to earn more money for her children. Marites describes herself as a friendly person.
