Ex-Singapore maidKnown for her calm, nurturing presence and strong work ethic, Jocelyn has a natural ability to care for others, developed through years of service and personal sacrifice.
She is the sixth child in a family of eleven siblings and was raised in a modest home where responsibility and cooperation were part of daily life. Despite reaching her third year in college, she chose to leave school due to financial difficulties and began working to support her family.
Her first caregiving experience began in the Philippines in 2003, where she worked as a housemaid for a large household. There, she provided care to a woman with breast cancer—an experience that sparked her commitment to helping those with health challenges.
In 2004, Jocelyn moved to Singapore, where she worked for over 11 years with a Chinese family. Her primary responsibility was to provide full-time care to a 69-year-old bedridden woman with colon cancer. She handled personal hygiene, feeding, medication, companionship, and all household duties. Jocelyn also became skilled in cooking a wide variety of Chinese dishes and maintaining a clean, peaceful home environment. Her loyalty and dedication earned the trust of the family she served for more than a decade.
Since returning to the Philippines in 2015, Jocelyn has focused on her family. To help provide for her household, she manages a sari-sari store and a small piggery business—demonstrating her strong entrepreneurial spirit and resourcefulness.
Despite her responsibilities at home, Jocelyn remains eager to work abroad again. Her motivation is deeply rooted in her desire to support her children’s education and secure a better future for them. She is confident in her ability to care for both the elderly and children, and is willing to undergo additional training if needed—especially in direct nursing or palliative care.
