  Josephine Edar is a 28-year-old Filipino domestic helper with experience in the Middle East. She can do household chores including cleaning, laundry, and ironing. She learned some Middle Eastern dishes during her stay in an Arab family. Josephine is willing to perform additional tasks that may arise from the role. 
  
  Oct 2024 to May 2025. Saudi Arabia. For an Arab family residing in a two-storey landed property with four bedrooms and two large study rooms. The couple had a 19-year-old son. Her primary responsibilities included maintaining the cleanliness of the entire household, washing dishes, vacuuming, doing laundry, and ironing. Although meals were more often ordered from restaurants, Josephine can prepare traditional meals like chicken kabsah, kuboos, and chicken maqluba upon request, and follow recipes for other dishes.  She was the only helper in the household and she was frequently sent to her employer’s siblings’ home, a landed 3 storey property, to perform similar household chores for two to three times per week and which was not part of the contract. Due to these additional demands, along with experiencing mistreatment from the employer’s family, she requested for a transfer and was sent home.
