She completed her secondary education at Northern Abra National High School in 2009. She then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and studied up to her second year in college. However, due to financial difficulties in the family, she was unable to complete her degree.
Her non-domestic work experience includes working as a service crew from 2014 to 2015 and as a cashier from 2016 to 2017. These roles helped her develop strong customer service skills, attentiveness, honesty in handling cash transactions, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. At present, she manages her own small sari-sari store while waiting for her application in Singapore to be selected, demonstrating her initiative and entrepreneurial skills.
Marijoy has substantial overseas domestic work experience in the United Arab Emirates
1. July 2017 to November 2019, she worked for an Arab family living in a six-bedroom, three-storey house. The employer hired two maids, and she worked as an all-around helper. Her duties included maintaining the cleanliness of the house, laundry, ironing, cooking, and assisting in the care of the children, including the newborn.
2. The household also had two maids, and she continued performing general household duties such as cleaning, laundry, ironing, and cooking, while actively helping in childcare. Through her years of service abroad, she gained valuable experience working in large homes and adapting to her employers’ culture and household standards.
Marijoy is confident in caring for newborns and young children. She is capable of performing childcare responsibilities such as feeding, bathing, preparing school materials, playing with the children, and ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. She understands the importance of patience, attentiveness, and nurturing care when handling infants and young children.
With her extensive experience, she has become highly proficient in household chores including cleaning, laundry, ironing, dishwashing, and cooking. She can prepare Filipino and basic Arab dishes and is willing to learn new recipes and cuisines to meet her future employer’s preferences.
Upon selection, she will undergo a one-week In-House Private Training in Manila (TESDA-accredited), followed by the OWWA seminar prior to the processing of her Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) for deployment.
