Wiyani is a 33-year-old single Indonesian Muslim from Cirebon who is able to converse in simple English. She has only one employer in Singapore, where she worked for 8 years caring for Ah Gong. From 2017 to 2025, she served a Chinese family of six consisting of Sir, Ma’am, a 70-year-old Ah Gong, a 62-year-old healthy Ah Mah, a newborn granddaughter born in 2022, and a big dog. During this period, she provided dedicated elderly care for Ah Gong who had suffered a stroke and walked with an aid. She assisted him with showering, dressing, diaper changing, and personal hygiene, cleaned him up when he soiled his diaper, monitored and recorded his blood pressure, prepared him for bed by putting on diaper and pajamas, accompanied him for leisure walks and exercise, and escorted him to hospital visits. She also maintained the cleanliness of a 3‑storey terrace house with 5 bedrooms and 3 toilets, paying special attention to removing dog fur, odor, and waste to ensure a hygienic environment for both Ah Gong and the newborn. In addition, she assisted Ah Mah in preparing ingredients and learned cooking skills from her, becoming able to cook simple Chinese dishes such as stir‑fried vegetables, pork soup, steamed fish, and other family meals. She helped Ah Mah cared for the baby by feeding milk, changing diapers, and playing with her. As the child grew, she prepared uniforms, school bag, shoes, and socks for kindergarten. She also took responsibility for the family’s big dog, showering, feeding, walking it, and ensuring its sleeping area was clean with sufficient food and water. After taking a well-deserved rest, Wiyani is now ready to return to work in Singapore.
