Marlar also has personal experience caring for her 85-year-old grandmother back in Myanmar, who was semi-mobile. Her duties included showering, changing clothes, giving medication, preparing meals, occasional feeding, supporting when walking, and general watching over.

Apart from these, Marlar also does the usual housework, laundry, and cooking. She is able to cook a variety of dishes, including fried rice, beehoon, chicken soup, steamed fish, steamed chicken, ABC soup, stir-fried vegetables, porridge, steamed egg, and chicken curry. She is also able to follow videos to learn more dishes.
