Sheilah is an experienced domestic helper with over nine years of service in Singapore. When she joined, the couple was aged 88 and 90. She managed all household responsibilities, including preparing meals such as chicken soup, steamed fish, stir-fried vegetables, fried noodles, and pasta. Sheilah provided care for the couple, particularly the bedridden female employer, who required a nasogastric tube (NGT) for two years. She diligently cleaned feeding tubes, prepared meals, assisted with bathing and dressing, changed diapers, and ensured medications were administered as prescribed. Her responsibilities included caring for Akong, managing household tasks, and providing pet care for two dogs, three chinchillas, two rabbits, and a koi fish pond with ten large fish. She also handled gardening and car washing. When the family decided to retain only one helper, Sheilah’s employment ended.

Dec 2017 - Jul 2018, Sheilah worked for a Chinese couple with a two-year-old child in a condominium. She balanced these with household tasks, including cleaning, marketing, washing dishes, laundry, and ironing. Additionally, she cared for the family’s pet cat.

Jul 2013 - Dec 2017, Sheilah cared for an elderly Chinese woman in a four-room HDB. The employer, a 76-year-old diabetic stroke patient, required support with daily routines, as she is wheelchair bound. This includes bed transport to wheelchair and vice versa, also assisted her in showering, diaper changes, dressing, feeding, and administering insulin shots. Sheilah accompanied her to doctor’s appointments and daycare visits and managed meal preparation, such as vegetable soups, porridge, steamed fish, stir-fried vegetables, and braised pork. Her service concluded when the elderly woman was transferred to a nursing home.
