Experiences

5 months (Aug – Jan ) as a helper in Hong Kong

Jo Ann worked in a 3-bedroom condo with 2-toilets, a living room and kitchen for a family of 4 with an 8-year-old. Daily she cleans and tidy the house, do marketing, prepare and cook the family meals, wash and clean the kitchen and utensils after use, do laundry, ironing and folding, looks after child welfare. She did not complete the contract due to insufficient rest and food.

(Feb – Oct )

Returned home, took up caregiving course and looked after her family welfare.

(Nov ) attend an hours OJT in Missionaries of the Poor - Home for the Aged in the Philippines

Jo Ann looked after bedridden patients with hypertension, visually impaired and cerebral palsy disorder. In all these, she learned to adjust to patient’s needs, be a caring and independent caregiver, for her future employment, she hopes to learn and adapt to new culture.

Stays home, looks after her family welfare and seek new job opportunities.



Cooking

She cooks Filipino dishes, keen to learn to cook Chinese and various other dishes. In Hong Kong, she learned to prepare and cook basic Chinese dishes, such as steamed, stew and stir-fried dishes etc.



Childcare

She is keen to look after children and/or infant and looks after her own since birth.



Elderly Care

She is keen to look after elderly.



Hand phone

She will follow the employer’s instruction regarding hand phone usage. However, she will contact her family using her own hand phone after work hour.



2 years contract

She is aware that she will enter a 2-year contract.



Recommendation

As a caregiver, her main duty is towards patient’s welfare and wellness, hygiene and cleanliness of patient’s room. Jo Ann is mature and ready to take on new challenge.
