Marilag, a helper with 15 years of experience in housekeeping, cooking, and childcare. Oct 2024 - May 2025. Hong Kong. For a Chinese couple with three children, an 8-year-old and a set of 4-year-old twins. The family employed two helpers and resided in a 3-bedroom HDB unit. Marilag shared a room with the twins, while the other helper stayed with the eldest child. Housekeeping duties were shared between the two helpers, alternating tasks as needed. Marilag primarily handled cooking, preparing meals from breakfast to dinner. She typically cooked 4 to 5 dishes per meal, with a focus on chicken-based recipes preferred by the children. These included steamed chicken, soy chicken, fried chicken, ginger chicken rice, and buttered shrimp, along with steamed vegetables or fish and soup, fried rice, noodles. Eventually, the family decided they no longer need a helper. 

Sep 2020 - Jul 2024 .Hong Kong. For a Chinese family of four, consisting of two adults and two children aged 6 and 8, residing in a 3-bedroom flat. She was primarily responsible for childcare duties, which included bathing, feeding, playing with the children, preparing their school essentials, and accompanying them to and from school. She also prepared meals for the children based on their preferences, such as steamed broccoli, adobo, fried rice, sushi, california maki rolls, and sandwiches. In addition to childcare, Marilag handled general housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and ironing. She would prepare variety of Chinese, Asian, and Filipino dishes, such as curry, beef stew, stir-fried noodles, dumplings, spring rolls, adobo, tofu, sweet and sour pork, wontons, egg rolls, and more. Her responsibilities also extended to occasional grocery shopping and car washing. She completed her contract.

Apr 2016 - Apr 2019 - Hong Kong - For a Filipino family of four residing in a 3-bedroom HDB flat, where she had her own room. The household consisted of two adults and two children, aged 9 and 12. Her responsibilities included full childcare, such as preparing school lunchboxes, sending the children to the school bus, accompanying them to playdates, and assisting with their daily routines. In addition to childcare, she managed general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, ironing, and maintaining the household. She prepared a variety of dishes, including Chinese and Filipino dishes like sweet and sour, sinigang, pochero, fired rice, spring roll, adobo, chopsuey, soup, hot pot, beef broccoli and the likes. She would also bake egg tart, chiffon cake and banana bread. Marilag occasionally assisted in car washing. Finished her contract. 

Feb 2011 - Feb 2015 - Singapore - For an American family of 4 and provided childcare while managing household duties. Her responsibilities included feeding the children, putting them to sleep, changing diapers, bathing, and engaging them in playtime. She was also in charge of general housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and meal preparation. Marilag loves cooking, and preparing variety of dishes including Western meals such as mashed potatoes, steak, pancakes, chicken wings, and salads, as well as Filipino and Asian favorites like adobo, soups, spring rolls, sesame chicken, egg rolls and more. She also occasionally baked homemade pizza and cookies and chiffon cake. In addition, she assisted with car washing. Her employment concluded due to the employer’s relocation.

Apr 2009 - Feb 2011 - Singapore - For an Australian family living in a four-bedroom condominium. Her responsibilities included childcare for an 18-month-old child, as well as managing all household tasks such as general cleaning, mopping, laundry, ironing, and meal preparation. She cooks Asian and Western cuisines, including Filipino dishes such as adobo, pancit, spring rolls, curry, and beef stew as well as Western like  steak, meat pie, fish and chips, braised pork, burgers. She also makes fairy breads, pizza and biscuits. Her contract was completed successfully and concluded when the employer relocated out of Singapore.

Apr 2007 - Apr 2009 - Singapore - For a Chinese family residing in a three-bedroom HDB flat, where she shared a room with another helper. Her key responsibilities included caring for a toddler and a newborn, while managing daily household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, ironing, and grocery shopping. She prepared meals consisting of a main dish, vegetables, soup, fish or pork. Her cooking includes Chinese, Asian, and Western cuisines, with dishes such as braised pork, steak, French fries, burgers, pizza, pasta, sweet and sour pork, adobo, steamed fish, fried chicken, chicken ginger rice, noodles, ABC soup, lotus root soup, samosa, chapati, sabji, curry and other dishes based on the family's preferences. She completed her contract successfully.
