Her responsibilities included assisting with the children's bathing, feeding, diaper changing, toileting, and hair grooming. She also took care of general housework including cooking, cleaning, and ironing.

From 2013 to 2018, she served a Chinese family living in a 2-storey house with 5 bedrooms and 5 toilets. There were two helpers in the household, and Merlyn was mainly assigned to handle household chores such as cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing, and marketing. She was the sole helper and was responsible for preparing the child’s school items and uniform, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and car washing.

She is able to cook Myanmar food and is willing to learn to cook new dishes. She can speak Fair English.
