Merlyn is an experienced domestic helper who has worked in Singapore for several years with Chinese families. Her first employment was in 2008 with a Chinese family living in an HDB flat with 5 bedrooms and 4 toilets. She also managed household chores such as cooking, cleaning, ironing, and laundry.

Later in 2008, she worked for another Chinese family with three daughters aged 6 months, 5 years, and 7 years, in an HDB house with 4 bedrooms and 3 toilets. She was again the only helper and focused mainly on caring for the 6-month-old baby—bathing, preparing clothes, combing hair, and giving vitamins—alongside doing the household tasks.

From 2008 to 2012, Merlyn was employed by a Chinese couple living in an HDB with 3 bedrooms and 2 toilets. She was solely responsible for all household duties such as cooking, cleaning, ironing, and laundry.

She then worked for another Chinese family with three daughters aged 6 months, 5 years, and 7 years in an HDB house with 4 bedrooms and 3 toilets. Her responsibilities included assisting with the children's bathing, feeding, diaper changing, toileting, and hair grooming. She also took care of general housework including cooking, cleaning, and ironing.

From 2013 to 2018, she served a Chinese family living in a 2-storey house with 5 bedrooms and 5 toilets. There were two helpers in the household, and Merlyn was mainly assigned to handle household chores such as cooking, cleaning, washing, ironing, and marketing. She was the sole helper and was responsible for preparing the child’s school items and uniform, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and car washing.

She has 6 siblings back in the Philippines, and she is the second child among them. SHE is hardworking and very independent.
