Chekie prepared simple breakfasts for the children, helped them get ready for school by showering them, packing their school bags, and ensuring they wore neatly ironed uniforms with clean shoes and socks. When the children returned home around 6 pm, she showered them again, changed them into clean clothes, and served them dinner.
